About Michael Godard
Michael Godard has known since early childhood that "paint flowed through his veins", so, it is no wonder that art has been his life's pursuit. Attending the University of Nevada in Las Vegas with a major in Fine Arts, Godard then went to the Art Center College of Design in Pasedena. He started his career as a freelance illustrator for such major corporations as Coca Cola, Saks Fifth Avenue, Dodge, et al. From there, his penchant for creating incredible pieces of art has never ceased.
Godard's talent lies in his natural ability to create super-realistic works with extreme clarity and in a wide array of subject matter. His themes often reflect a fine sense of humor and deep thought; from clever pop art still-lifes with a wine bottle and running corks, to surreal landscapes, to amazingly realistic portraits of children blowing bubbles. His method results in works that balance technique, realism, humor and imagination; evoking drama and emotion.
This year alone, Godard has appeared on ABC, NBC, MTV, the Discovery Channel, along with numerous radio and magazine interviews. His works are collected by celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, and are found in numerous art galleries, businesses and homes throughout the United States and Japan. In addition, Godard was commissioned by the double platinum rock band "Dishwalla" for the cover of their new album "Opaline" which was released in April, 2002.
